Perl 6: The Swiss-Army Lightsaber

This talk describes the Perl 6 programming language, explaining its design philosophy and relationship to Perl 5, and giving an overview of ten of its most powerful new features.

We'll see how to out-class Python, out-function Lisp, and out-type C++ and explore quantum mechanical data structures, humanized regexes, hypothetical variables, mutable syntaxes, braided languages, the joys of metadata, the convenience of complete introspection, and the unexpected power of "design-by-misunderstanding".
